I remember this dish from my grandmas home!!! what sweet memories! this looks easy to make I will try it ASAP! is the sirloin like ground beef? and do I drain fat out?
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for the comment,Yes sirloin is ground beef,it has a lower fat content so healthier. usually you will not have a lot of fat to drain, so I just sop it up with a towel .
Thanks so much!....I plan on making this today!....
I make this all the time but i add cilantro and sqeeze fresh lime in my bowl once served its delish love this its sort of a comfort food
I made this today and it is AMAZING! I stay away from foods that are spicy so my diet is very bland and simple. But for whatever reason, this recipe called to me. I don't eat meat that much but I used it because I wanted to stick to the recipe. It tastes awesome but next time I will use ground tofu instead of the beef.
Hi do you cook the shells first?
I made this today but it was bland. I added extra spices (garlic, onion powder, chili powder, etc) and got it tasting pretty good. I live in LA (Lower Alabama) so we are used to a few extra spices. Thanks for the basic recipe.
Where is the print button?
Sheila , this blog does not contain a print , so it would be best to copy and paste or screen shot , thank you
Barbara the shells cook , with the soup after the meat is ground
Larry , you must really like a lot of spice... this is a good basic recipe
I made this and added chicken chorizo for the spice flavor without adding the chili power and cayenne power. Worked out very well! I also added kale because I always have to add a green leafy vegetable.
Great job adding kal
que lastima que no es en espaƱol. Debieran de poner las recetas siempre en los dos idiomas. Gracias
I was making this and had a couple unexpected people show up and needed it to stretch farther a can of rinsed and drained black beans and a can of corn was a perfect addition!
So I’ve made this recipe before but was wondering if I can use bow tie shells?
